CHAPTER 2 - SETTING UP FIREBALL

Connecting to HPNA Networks (FireBall)

FireBall has an HPNA jack that can be used to connect to the internet through and HPNA

enabled PC with Internet connection sharing. (Minimum and maximum length cabling

requirements are found in Appendix G - Home Networking.)

u Use the Telephone Cable.

(Can be identied by see-through connectors. This

is the smaller of the two cables with see-through

connectors, also known as an RJ-11 cable)

v Connect one end of the telephone cable to the FireBall HPNA jack.

w Connect the other end of the telephone cable to a Telephone Wall Jack.

Connecting to the Internet

using Ethernet requires an

HPNA to Ethernet Bridge, such

as the Escient Broadband Kit.

In addition, certain minimum

and maximum length cabling

requirements must be met.
